Hammocks and throwovers
The magnificent hammocks are entirely weaved by the hand of artists from a small village of San Jacinto in the north of Colombia and Colombianoz works in partnership with the cooperative of local artists of the village.
The women of this village conserve the beautiful art of traditional weaving used in order to produce the hammocks. The craftwork is primarily by hand and usually done at the home of the women. Each piece represents an average of 5 days of work of the artist. The traditional technique possesses a particular characteristic: each thread forms a chain which goes right the way through the hammock and the body of the hammock. The threads are twisted by hand to form the tight cords of the “sheet” all thus are able to produce a single piece. The hammocks produced in such a fashion are able to offer the maximum comfort to the user.
Colombianoz hammocks are made in pure cotton, a natural product that is more comfortable than its synthetic equivalent. Also the absence of the wooden bars that are commonly found in other hammocks provide greater stability for the user of the hammock.
The quality of the work and the artistic weave offers not only a strong, practical and useable product but one of exceptional beauty.
They can be used both indoors and outdoors.
